Professional Engineer Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis, design and plan production for transportation engineering projects, including roadways, highways, drainage, erosion control and traffic control

  • Create job specifications and contract documents for bidding purposes

  • Calculate quantities and construction cost estimating

  • Use experience and skills to provide deliverables as outlined in project scope, within budget and on schedule

  • Lead project team in quality control process

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate project goals, risks and requirements with clients and project team; this will include the internal project kick-off meeting to discuss project overview, scope, schedule and budget

  • Actively manage projects to ensure they are completed as outlined in the scope and on schedule

  • Manage the financial well-being and profitability of your projects

  • Use project management skills to plan, organize, monitor and direct work activities to be on schedule and within budget

  • Prioritize projects and workload to ensure they are completed on schedule

  • Deliver a complete TREKK customer experience to your clients on their projects

  • Support Market Lead in meeting KPI goals

  • Establish and maintain client relationships with new and existing clients

  • Proposal development, project scope negotiation, cost estimating and schedule development

  • Actively participate in business development activities to grow our market share and client network utilizing our CRM system

Education, Licensing, Certification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Professional Engineer certification required

  • At least 8 years of experience in transportation design

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of MicroStation Open Roads and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D

  • Working knowledge of design standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD and APWA

  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
