Project Engineer Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis, design and plan production for structural projects including transportation related structures and stormwater/wastewater infrastructure

  • Perform engineering analysis, design and plan production for transportation engineering projects, including roadways, highways, drainage, erosion control and traffic control

  • Support design team through quality control process on prepared plans

  • Calculate quantities and construction cost estimates

Education, Licensing, Certification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • At least 2 years of experience in structural design

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of structural design software (such as LEAP Bridge), MicroStation and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D

  • Working knowledge of design standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD, and APWA

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and procedures

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
