I-435 South Loop Link Design-Build
The I-435 South Loop Link is an important connection across the south side of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Drivers experience heavy congestion and safety concerns along this nearly 3-mile stretch of interstate highway, particularly during rush hour travel periods.
To relieve congestion and improve safety through this corridor, the I-435 South Loop Link design-build project included multiple bridge replacements, resurfacing, and corridor safety and mobility improvements. As part of the project’s design-build team, TREKK’s contributions included topographic and mobile LiDAR survey, utility coordination, drainage design, and the design of ADA compliant pedestrian facilities along State Line, Wornall and Holmes Roads.
TREKK previously assisted MoDOT with the I-435 South Corridor Study in preparation for the design-build project. TREKK provided mobile LiDAR survey and subsurface utility engineering as part of this preliminary design work.
