Waterspout: Real-Time Sewer Data Delivery Service

Seeing an increase in private development, the City of Bentonville recognized the need to create a Capital Improvement Plan to assess four of its sanitary sewer basins. Working as part of a team, TREKK is helping the City build a sewer system hydraulic model to determine existing flows, including inflow and infiltration, within these sewer basins.

We are currently conducting flow monitoring on sewer trunk lines with diameters of 12 inches. We installed 27 cellular-enabled, area-velocity monitors with visual data feeds and eight rain gauges, which will collect data for one year. Flow monitoring data is provided to the City via TREKK’s real-time sewer surveillance visual verification platform, Waterspout. We developed custom integrations to the City’s ArcOnline platform that allows users to see changes the instant they happen. Flow monitoring results, along with collected rainfall data, will help determine the basin’s baseline capacity.

TREKK also inspected 525 manholes, using our TREKK360 camera to capture panoramic photos of all interceptor manholes.

By utilizing innovative technology like Waterspout, TREKK is able to help the City of Bentonville work smarter - not harder.
