LiDAR Scan to BIM Modeling of Historical Satchel Paige House

In May 2022, TREKK provided high-definition imagery and 3D colorized LiDAR data of the three-story, 3,672 square foot Satchel Paige residence for historical recordation and redevelopment. The interior and exterior static scan data was used to create a Building Information Modeling (BIM) model. TREKK LiDAR technicians collected 107 color scans using the static LiDAR RTC 360 scanner so that the architects could redevelop the home to include exhibition and retail spaces, incubator offices and rentable meeting rooms.

Hurricane Katrina - Looking Back 17 Years Later

One of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the U.S. occurred 17 years ago. Hurricane Katrina caused more than $125 million in damage, primarily to the New Orleans area. When FEMA put out a request for assistance, Lemuel Tjardes and several other TREKK employees headed south to help out. They had no idea as to the extent of the damage, but they were ready to do all they could for area residents.

Ralph Hill relocated to Omaha and became involved with the local fencing community. As he traveled to competitions across the Midwest, he’s had the opportunity to meet individuals from all walks of life, including another TREKK employee and a colleague in the engineering industry. Ralph believes that you learn a lot about another person when you fence them; you develop a connection on a whole different level.

Living Our Purpose: Listen to the Hive

Safety Manager, Dan Hanner, has always been in awe of nature. Since he found his first hive in a hollowed out tree, he was fascinated by the hive’s structure and complexity. Dan and his wife are now beekeepers, watching over two successful hives of their own. While spending time with the bees, he’s discovered a connection between beekeeping and client relationships, the most important of which is to listen to the hive.

Living Our Purpose: Fishing for Clean Water

As a child, Dakota Rector enjoyed fishing with his grandfather. Since then his fishing addiction has only gotten stronger. By the time he graduated from high school, Dakota had 12 freshwater aquariums in his home. Now he’s sharing his love of fishing with his daughter. Dakota is proud of TREKK’s mission to provide clean water and safe roads. Not only are we protecting the waterways for fish, we’re preserving them for future generations to enjoy.
