Survey Team
Full-time, salary and exempt position

Survey Crew Chief Responsibilities

  • Utilize Total Station or GPS to collect data points to be used to perform topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, preliminary and final plats, construction staking and as-built surveys
  • Perform topographic, property and construction staking surveys
  • Deliver survey data within the project tolerance
  • Adhere to all professional/technical requirements of the survey as directed by the Survey Manager
  • Lead and direct the survey crew to perform timely, accurate surveys
  • Act as TREKK’s point of contact for the public in the field
  • Share your technical knowledge by mentoring survey instrument technicians, serving as a technical resource, and training or assisting others as needed
  • Understand and deliver the TREKK customer experience to clients

Education, Licensing, Certification and Experience

  • 5+ years of prior experience with proficiency as a survey rodman and crew lead
  • OSHA 10-hour training and CPR/first aid
  • Former construction staking experience required
  • MoDOT and KDOT experience preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be detail oriented and strive to perform work accurately and efficiently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Clean driving record and background check
  • This job is considered physically demanding. You must be able to work outside year-round; enter sewer manholes; stand for long periods of time; lift, push and pull 100 lbs.; climb stairs; walk uneven terrain; and squat, crawl, and walk for long distances
