Route 123 Over Barren Creek

In cooperation with MoDOT, TREKK provided preliminary and final bridge and roadway design and bridge hydraulic analysis to replace the aging Route 123 bridge located south of Fair Play in Polk County, Missouri. 

The existing 3-span structure over Barren Creek was replaced with a 114-foot single-span NU-girder bridge. This structure type is an economical solution that minimizes disturbance within the FEMA Zone A floodplain. The length of roadway improvements was minimized, and the design allowed construction to be completed within the existing right of way. This value engineering allowed the final estimate to come in 17 percent below the awarded price for the bridge.
