MoDOT KC District | Kansas City, Missouri
The I-435 South Loop Link is an important connection across the south side of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Drivers experience heavy congestion and safety concerns along this nearly 3-mile stretch of interstate highway, particularly during rush hour travel periods.
To relieve congestion and improve safety through this corridor, the I-435 South Loop Link design-build project included multiple bridge replacements, resurfacing and corridor safety and mobility improvements. As part of the project’s design-build team, TREKK’s contributions included topographic and mobile LiDAR survey, utility coordination, drainage design, traffic engineering and the design of ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities along State Line, Wornall and Holmes Roads.
TREKK previously assisted MoDOT with a corridor study in preparation for the design-build project. We provided mobile LiDAR survey and subsurface utility engineering as part of this preliminary design work.
