Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority | Little Rock, Arkansas
TREKK worked with the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority (LRWRA) to define, quantify and plan an Inflow and Infiltration (I/I) reduction program in several sub-basins. We conducted manhole inspections, smoke and dyed water testing, CCTV and flow metering to help the LRWRA identify deficiencies and develop rehabilitation plans to reduce wet weather flow and eliminate sewer overflows. TREKK also prepared technical specifications to select contractors to construct the rehabilitation work identified during field assessment. This included manhole rehabilitation, pipe grouting, pipe point repairs and pipe bursting.
The project included 248,774 linear feet of sanitary sewer and 1,238 manholes. TREKK completed flow metering to establish each basin’s current wet and dry weather flow. We used our PreView cameras in multiple manhole locations to prioritize smaller basin areas that are influenced by rain events. The PreView camera pictures allowed us to monitor increases in flow quickly.
TREKK also completed smoke testing in all three basin areas. To avoid alarming local residents, our crews notified area homeowners and businesses prior to beginning smoke testing. Additionally, TREKK communicated with contacts at LRWRA, the city of Little Rock and area fire stations and police departments in the proposed work areas each day.
