Z’s Sports Soccer Complex Improvement Project

City of Greenwood, Missouri

As part of our on-call services to the city of Greenwood, Missouri, TREKK designed improvements to the 15.2-acre Z’s Sports Soccer Complex.

Interior improvements included replacing synthetic turf fields, weight training facilities and other improvements. Exterior site improvements included synthetic turf fields and civil site improvements, such as grading, paving, parking, utilities and drainage upgrades. Utility improvements include on-site stormwater detention, the addition of site lighting and the conversion of sanitary from septic to a city sewer connection.

Although the site is only 15.2 acres, approximately 60 acres of off-site water passes through the complex. In extreme storm events, stormwater nearly reached the building door, which failed to meet stormwater requirements. Storm improvements included removing a concrete-lined channel, headwalls and 24-inch CMP pipes on-site and replacement with new stormwater management techniques such as on-site detention, aggregate and turf field underdrains, and open channel ditches to improve collection and conveyance.
