Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City | Kansas City, Kansas
TREKK provided comprehensive services to transform nearly a mile of 7th Street in Kansas City, Kansas into a multi-modal corridor supporting all transportation users.
Initially, TREKK completed a corridor development study to analyze the current conditions and patterns of all transportation modes and confirm the feasibility of a road diet considering motorist and pedestrian operations and safety. As part of the study, we collected traffic data, conducted a crash analysis, assessed intersection modifications, analyzed existing and anticipated capacity, and developed concept alternatives.
We then developed Complete Streets improvements including pavement rehabilitation, intersection bump-outs, traffic signals, access management medians, sidewalks, ADA pedestrian ramps, bus stops, on-street parking, drainage improvements and streetlighting.
As part of our holistic services, TREKK also provided land surveying and led construction engineering and inspection services.
