Springfield Flow Monitoring and Technical Assistance

City of Springfield, Missouri

In a combined effort with the city of Springfield, TREKK provided a six-month maintenance plan for more than 50 permanent metering sites located within the city’s collection system. TREKK provided micro-monitoring solutions using our PreView camera and set-up a virtual rain gauge network for the city. We conducted a research study to compare the influences of temperature, altitude, wind vector and droplet size on the practical accuracy expectations of physically installed rain gauge hardware and virtual rain gauge data derived from radar.

We also conducted hydrogen sulfide (H2S) monitoring for 180 days and provided recommendations for H2S control.

TREKK provides the city with technical advice by developing tools and scripts in both Fulcrum and ArcGIS Online related to the city’s Private I/I Sewer Repair Program and Smoke Testing applications. We designed and developed custom software to automate the aggregation of flow meter data directly into the city’s existing analytics platform. TREKK can also provide the city with data ingress, analysis, and visualization through other tools, such as PowerBI and Grafana.
